Playing Online Backgammon - To Win
GammonEmpire, PartyGammon and Play 65 are the 3 biggest online backgammon rooms. I’ve played at all of them, and below you can see my personal reviews.
Play 65 is probably the most well-known online backgammon room, thanks to some great marketing, as well as excellent customer service. They actually share the same software as Gammon Empire, and provide a service of the same level. Cash Games and Tournaments are run regularly, including a $50k monthly backgammon tournament.
As well as download software, Play 65 also offer a Java backgammon game, which means you can play backgammon from wherever you are using your normal backgammon account. Very handy for those who travel a lot.
Play 65 offer the following languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Finnish, Norwegian, Arabic, Russian, German, Spanish, Danish, Swedish, French, Hebrew, Dutch, Italian, Greek and finally Turkish. They obviously understand the fact that backgammon is a enjoyed worldwide.
Play 65 payment methods are: credit cards, paypal, neteller, moneybookers. Sufficient for most backgammon players. The same methods are used when withdrawals are made, although receiving a bank wire is also an option.
Play 65 accepts player from most countries including the US apart from the following states: Montana, Arizona, Louisiana, Florida, Vermont and Connecticut.
Party Gammon is part of the massive Party company, better known for their online Poker room and Casino. Because of their massive player base for these products, they have managed to create a vibrant online backgammon room, often with the more casual players which offer good chances for profitable backgammon play.
As well as their cash games, they also run backgammon tournaments, including the PartyGammon.com Million where players who had qualified online were flown to the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas for the first ever $1Million Backgammon Tournament.
Party Gammon offer a sign up bonus of 50% of you first deposit up to $50, ie If you deposit $100 you will get a bonus of $50. Deposits can be made using credit cards, moneybookers, neteller, bank wire transfer, webmoney, giropay, clickandbuy, ukash, diners card, debit cards and even more.
Party Gammon offer the following languages on their website: English, Portugese, Norwegian, German, French, Turkish, Swedish, Danish.
In line with Party’s company policy on their other products, they do not accept any US players.

There are loads of great backgammon resources online, which can aid you as you progress in your backgammon career. Here are some of my favourites: Backgammon Galore is a large portal with loads of information on: rules, variants, books etc. It has an active forum and regularly published articles. Backgammon.org is another large portal, with a very clean design making it easy to navigate. If you are going to play backgammon online, then I suggest you visit Free Backgammon Books where you will receive a free backgammon book when you sign up to play at one of the listed backgammon sites.
Gammon Empire was the first online backgammon room I played at, and the one I still spend most of my time using. They are a large room, with lots of backgammon players meaning you should never have trouble finding a game at whichever level you play.
They run monthly backgammon tournaments with prize pools of up to $50k, as well as more regular hourly and daily backgammon tournaments for quicker cash wins.
For beginner backgammon players they have a good feature, Backgammon School where for a small fee you can have your moves evaluated and the best moves showed while you play. This is a great starter for new backgammon players to enable them to hold onto their backgammon bankroll for a little while longer, although as experience progesses, and the player becomes more advanced at backgammon, the Backgammon School will become less useful as more advanced strategies are needed.
Gammon Empire offer sign up bonuses, including $2 free for registering, although you will have to use a bonus code:
To get a $5 bonus on a $25 deposit use bonus code: FREEBOOK5
To get a $10 bonus on a $50 deposit use bonus code: FREEBOOK10
To get a $20 bonus on a $100 deposit use bonus code: FREEBOOK20
You may only receive one of these backgammon bonuses, so it’s best to deposit the highest amount you can to receive the highest bonus.
have a range of payment methods to allow you to play backgammon for money: Credit Cards, Diners Club, Moneybookers, Neteller, Wire Transfer, Paypal are all accepted.
Their website and backgammon software is available in 12 different languages: English, Italian, French, Dutch, Greek, Japanese, Swedish, Spanish, Israeli, Turkish, Danish, German allowing all international players to enjoy their online backgammon.
Gammon Empire accept players for real money from the US, apart from those who are in the following US states: South Carolina, South Dakota, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, Tennessee, Vermont.
